Welcome to our final Bluebird Productions Newsletter of the season. We will return in August with updates on new events & artist along with a new section devoted to our Educational Programs.
When it comes to musical variety, commitment to education and a desire to deliver quality entertainment to our community, You told us "NO ONE does it better".
You spoke, we listened. You asked for more variety, from a wider range of genres, Blues, Jazz and Rock N Roll and we delivered.
This season proved that the people of Fort Pierce and St Lucie County believe in their community, share a common love for good music and that you want more.
Due to your inquiries and suggestions we are expanding our offerings including educational presentations to Martin and Indian River Counties and will keep you informed as to our progress.
Thank you for your support of our 2009/2010 Black Box Concert Series where we presented John Lee Hooker Jr., Little Ed & The Blues Imperials, Janiva Magness, Zac Harmon, Bernard Allison, BK Jackson, Kenny Wesley and Selwyn Birchwood..
Our Music On The Plaza
series which ran from October to May featured The Lincoln Park Academy Jazz Ensemble, Ossie Wright with Groove Division, Bobby & The Blisters, Darrell Raines Blues Band, Ben Robinson, Caribbean Sound, Gregg Jackson & The Mojo Band, The Pine School Jazz Ensemble, Leonard Rutledge, Double Eagle, The Rachel Z Trio with Omar Hakim and Jesse Jones.
Our Latin Jazz show presentation which was held on Sunday May 9th featuring the Latin Heritage Orchestra, Robert Navarro & Latin Groove, and Sammy Figueroa’s Sally Tomato band, featuring the music of Cal Tjader, was very exciting, with folks dancing in the streets and enjoying good food on what everyone said was a beautiful day. Everyone in attendance had a great time and we promise to have more Latin oriented food and beverages available next year. This year’s event was produced in partnership with Dean Kubitschek from the Fort Pierce City Marina as part of the Seafood-Waterfront-and Boat Show Festivals.
We also want to acknowledge our sponsors without whose support Music on the Plaza could not happen: The City of Fort Pierce, Fort Pierce City Marina, Fort Pierce Redevelopment Authority, BlueBird Educational Productions, Grand Bank & Trust, Kessler Law Firm, United for Animals, Pam Punkar & Gary Dundas, Chaney’s House of Flowers, Dermatech Day Spa, Harbor Federal Realty, Lawnwood Dental Center, Roy’s Liquors & Boozgeois Saloon, Wipeout Pest & Termites, Smith Akins & Associates, Bradford L. Now for the rest of our story:
We continue to review partnerships and alliances with Blues and Jazz organizations across Florida and have already expanded our list of contacts to include Rock n Roll, Country and Latin music management teams.
We have received inquiries from booking agents across the east coast expressing interest in bringing their artist to you and as a result, next year we will be presenting new musical acts along with some you asked us to bring back.
We are currently negotiating with new venues in Martin and Indian River counties to expand our concert presentations including our unique school workshops BlueBird Educational Productions Computer Lab continues to deliver musical performances and workshops at local schools for the younger members of our community.
Feedback from students, school administrators and parents has been very positive and we hope to continue presenting these specialized events with a broader variety of acts. |
