Darryl T. Bey

A lifetime of experience and achievement in supporting and promoting the performing arts.

As the founder/co-founder and leader of several musical societies, as an active participant in numerous nonprofit civic organizations, as a professional impresario and as an independent businessman, I have acquired decades of successful experience in management, marketing and development. These skills and experience include:

• Development and execution of numerous marketing, advertising and public relations campaigns in support of performing arts programs and events
• Representative and negotiator with artists’ agents, publicists and managers to book and promote performances
• Identifying primary and secondary audiences for events and programs and developing cost-effective targeted marketing campaigns to reach them using the appropriate tools and methods, such as direct mail, email blasts, telemarketing, news releases and media advertising
• Delivering presentations to night clubs, municipal government bodies, civic organizations,news conferences and other public forums
• Providing Print interviews and appearances on broadcast media to discus and promote programs and events
• Provide Strategic creative direction, production coordination and distribution supervision of print and electronic collateral
• Development, scheduling and distribution of news releases, public service announcements and artist interviews
• Evaluation and reporting of results of promotional activities to directors and members of performing arts societies
• Recruitment and leadership of volunteer assistance in promoting programs and staging events
• Building cooperation and coordination among various performing arts and educational organizations
• Developing policies/Procedures in response to inquiries regarding performances, promotions and related issues
• Annual planning of performing arts societies’ programs, promotions and activities
• Database building and management of membership, media, email, telephone and facsimile lists
• Soliciting and negotiating corporate sponsorships for programs and events
• Planning, direction and reporting of surveys and studies on demographics, public perceptions and issues regarding performing arts organizations and programming

Ken (Preacher) Brown

Mr. Brown has been involved in the music business as an entertainer and producer for over 30 years. He joined his first rock & roll band at age 13 and proceeded to win numerous ”battle of the bands” awards and contests leading to his first professional performance on the island resort of Block Island at age 15.

He holds dual master degrees in Psychology and Labor Law and has worked for many well known technology companies as a Human Resources executive. Ken currently consults for Bose Corporation and plays drums with a touring 10 piece R&B band as well as keyboards with one of the top Rock/Blues bands in southern New England.

While attending college Ken continued to perform with numerous bands where he developed his interest in the promotional and producing side of the music business eventually creating his own company NiteTrain Productions which continues to bring Blues concerts and musical events to Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Upon moving to the Treasure Coast in 1993 Ken later became friends and eventually partners with Darryl Bey, then a board member of the Treasure Coast Blues Alliance and President of the Fort Pierce Jazz Society.

Over the following years they combined resources and ideas to bring many Jazz and Blues acts to St Lucie County.

The success of this relationship has led to their formalizing their partnership under the banner of BlueBird Productions where they will continue to bring top musical acts of all genres to the Treasure Coast.

BlueBird Productions can provide everything our clients need encompasing all aspects of event planning including idea conception, demographic analysis, artist and site selection. We can act as your booking agency, producer and promoter. Our experienced staff will be happy to assist you in identifying options which best suit your budget.

Monk, Ramsey Lewis, Giacomo Gates, Melton Mustafa, Tommy Flanigan, Ira Sullivan, Lil' Ed and The Blues Imperials, the Bill Porter Orchestra, David (Fathead) Newman, David Sanborn, Guitar Shorty, Donald Harrison, Christian Scott, Joey DeFrancesco, Melton Mustafa, Zac Harmon, Ana Popovic, and Wynton Marsalis.

Our clientele have found an easy way to obtain the big name talent they want for their corporate events, concerts, private parties, special events, festivals, trade shows and fund raiser.

You can have us just handle the contracting of the talent like an agency, or you can have us act as a producer as well and handle the entire musical portion of the event.
